This place is absolutely amazing! Having been to the sister restaurant in Rome several times during that trip, I was super stoked to know of a location in florence. So good, we went back to back days. Their platters are so fresh and so well executed its like artistry. Take a moment and watch them create your boards with such attention to detail and thought. Platters are wonderfully priced compared to what you'd get in the states and factor of fact would be considered a steal. Grab a bottle of chianti and enjoy!
Oh and their truffle spread. Omgggggg. I literally CRAVE it. You can buy it to go which, I of course did, but the consistency is definitely not the same. So make sure you savor those pieces on your board when you get them because they are so rich and aromatic, the truffle really comes through! -

While waiting for our next tourist attraction, my husband and I decided to have a bite at La Prosciutteria, which is highly recommended on Yelp. This was the one place we visited where I couldn't get away with my poor Italian and had to rely on nonverbal communication to order.
We shared a delicious board of breads, cheeses, and meats. And I had a glass of red wine. I'll never get over how "cheap wine" in Italy is still so good. The one thing that made it difficult to get into the spirit was the weird American music covers that were playing in the background.
Anyways I tried not to act like a tourist here. The man and woman behind the counter were extremely patient and kind. I enjoyed that there wasn't a crowd here. Other places nearby were packed, so I'm grateful we had a quiet moment to ourselves with the locals. -

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. We arrived at La Prosciutteria around 7:10 pm on a Tuesday evening. It was starting to get full but there was still a table toward the rear of the restaurant. The staff led us through the options of 5, 10 or 15€pp trays. This was our dinner so we chose the 15pp tray. It was ample to say the least. Fully abundant. We did leave some on the platter at the end. I noticed as each tray came out-to other tables - that they were all unique. We gave no specifics when we ordered, and received an excellent assortment for our tray. I enjoyed the wine of the day and a Limoncello shot after. Water is free from the tap and they have super cute wooden cutlery as well. If you would like a souvenir, I noticed they have coffee cups and such for purchase. We sincerely enjoyed our evening here! Gratzie!
PS- the marinated veggies were absolutely the best. The. Best. -

This is an amazing simple and imposing place to each an amazing charcuterie. Has a amazing meats and cheeses and large selection of wine! Will not kill you budget with 10 and 20 euro platters of multiple meats , cheese , jam and bread spread with truffle cream, herbed cheese spread and eggplant spread. They also serve sandwiches. I loved and will go every time I visit florence. Owner and staff where helpful and generous with information.
